Woodland BK

Woodland is a poppin’ farm-to-table spot in Brooklyn, NY. (Flatbush) Their ambiance is inviting and homely. If you go during the day, it’s really bright and vibrant. If you go during the evening, it’s more intimate. Google describes the venue as a brick-lined, industrial-chic setting with a patio. Classy.

On this particular visit I went on a Saturday for a large brunch party. Suggestion: be sure to arrive early with all of your guests present.   They don’t take reservations and they get super packed. You WILL have to WAIT to be seated. We waited almost two hours.

I had their Jerk Shrimp and Grits. Of course. This was memorable and very flavorful. I felt like the Jerk was made with love- wished there was more sauce, but that’s personal preference. The presentation was unique and made a statement. I was satisfied after eating, which is always refreshing. I’d say that the best part about the menu was the Caribbean twist. There were lots of great options for reasonable prices.

FYI: There’s a two hour limit on bottomless mimosas, but if you’re like me and my friends, you probably won’t need mimosas. Why? Because you would likely have gone to the bar to try their SNEAKY Brooklyn Rum Punch while you waited. I had three of them. Let’s just say, the rest was not history. Lol

Music: The DJ was too cool!! He had on his Gucci slip-ons and was playing nonstop hits. Everyone at the venue really seemed to be enjoying themselves. To wrap this up,  Woodland gets 5 stars from me!! They do brunch they way it’s supposed to be done! (Minus the no reservation thing.)
