RESTAURANT
MILK & HONEY
Okay, as promised, I went BACK to this spot...
My second trip was a mid-week visit with a much shorter wait. The weather was perfect and there was good music playing. We got to eat outside and that was a nice switch up.
I brought a tough food critic with me, and before she even swallowed her first bite, she was talking about how she couldn't wait to come back. She said it made you want to SLAP your momma and has been talking about Milk & Honey ever since. Look-- I felt so proud, and I didn't even cook the food. LOL. But I believe I've found my tried and true spot.
In my last post I said I wanted to try their Vanilla Cognac French Toast, and that's exactly what I did (my second and third visit). I loved the caramel and the cognac on the french toast-- I knew it was there, but it was not at all overbearing. The dish wasn't overly sweet and you don't need to add anything to it! No extra syrup, nothing. Just dig in. It's such an aesthetically pleasing dish- every time I see the photo, I want to lick it.
Because the grits were so delicious last time, I ordered a side of them, and asked for some of the Cajun Sauce ;) It was a good complement to the french toast.
We also tried their Blackened Salmon BLT. The salmon was grilled to perfection and was so tender. It had hickory smoked pork bacon, avocado spread and of course, lettuce and tomatoes. This is great for someone who wants to eat lighter, but doesn't want to sacrifice great taste. I was admittedly too full to finish all of my food, but I tried.
For your reference, I've also included the photos from my first visit, just in case you missed that post! You can find them on IG @milkandhoney2
